Hej,

Mit navn er Rick Kempf og jeg er ny medlem, bosatt i Arizona.

That's about as far as my terrible written Norwegian will carry me. I speak Norwegian and read Danish so I can make my way around the forum okay. The reason I joined is that this summer we will be spending August and September in Tønder. I plan to bring a couple of detectors with me and hope to be able to do some detecting while I'm there.

I have read widely on the web and familiarized myself with the Danish regulations concerning reporting of finds, handing in of finds dating from before the Reformation etc. These are very sensible and frankly quite liberal rules and I have no problem complying with them.

I hope to get out and detect in the local area but we also will have a car and getting around be no problem.

In case anybody's wondering why on earth where going from Arizona to Tønder for a summer holiday they're two very good reasons. My wife is Norwegian and her brother has recently moved from Tromsø in North Norway to Tønder - So were taking advantage of his hospitality – we visited there two years ago and found the area to be delightful.

There's also the small matter of summer temperatures here exceeding 45°C and by August will be thoroughly tired of it.

Hope to have a chance to meet some other forum members while I'm there.
